Description: This election was held during one of the clan's worst downturns, with few active members and no truly active divisions. That was part of the reason for the very low vote count in the election, the other being that Tanweth was running for re-election, and was probably expected to win no matter what. Hardly any campaigning was held in this election as well. Tanweth mainly just promised to continue efforts to try to revive the clan.

(Division-by-division breakdowns were not recorded in this election)
Description: This election cycle began during one of LoE's worst downturns. Most of the divisions were inactive, and forum activity was also very low. Shortly after the sign up period opened, Auron and Charge signed up, but were not actively campaigning. Tanweth, the clan founder, came on the forums in late May and expressed his desire to try to rebuild the clan and make it active again. He also expressed disgust with the inactivity of President St Nicky and the two candidates. He signed up as a presidential candidate immediately following this, and worked to attract the members back onto the forums and discuss future plans. He also worked on a new Constitution in response to charges that LoE was too bureaucratic (President St Nicky also made a similar new Constitution proposal, and inspired many of the ideas in Tanweth's proposal). Campaigning after Tanweth became a candidate was unique in that a few different members posted questions in the townhall discussion (usually it is only one or two), which Tanweth and Auron responded to promptly. Tanweth's campaign consisted mostly of his practical efforts to get the clan active again before he became president, while Auron's campaign mostly consisted of making outrageous (yet funny) responses to townhall discussion questions. Charge's campaigning was minimal. When the election came, Tanweth won overwhelmingly (not unexpectedly), no doubt due to his long history with the clan as its founder and long-time former president. There was no sitting elections administrator for this election.

Description: This election followed only a month and a half after the January 08 Midterm. The midtern's big winner, St Nicky, quickly signed up, as did his opponent, Lecutius. Lecutius, however, withdrew due to real life issues. SJLGamer, acer, and Vulcan all arised to challenge St Nicky, but acer's candidacy also ended quickly after he was disqualified due to no longer being an LoE member. SJLGamer arose as the main challenger to St Nicky, and the two went through the usual steps of answering questions in the Townhall Discussion, but didn't do much else for their campaigns. In the last couple of weeks, the campaign also slowed down and seemed to lose any intensity it used to have (instead of speeding up as most campaigns do), but Vulcan finally stepped in and gave nonsensical (but funny) answers to the questions. The election itself was another story. From the first day to the last the poll was almost constantly a tie between St Nicky and SJLGamer. The election was only resolved after the single person who voted for Vulcan changed his vote to St Nicky, securing a 1 vote margin of victory for St Nicky.

Description: This special election was called to replace the inactive President Flipip. The front-runner for the election was Flipip's former opponent, St Nicky. His only opponent was Lecutius, who was the not-very-well-known co-leader of Codename: Proelium, a Call of Duty 4 division. Lecutius did little in the way of campaigning, and St Nicky won by a landslide. The voter turnout was unusually low, suggesting some members did not vote either because they felt the election result was inevitable (therefore their vote is worthless), or because they were disgusted with the choices given to them.

Description: This election was unusual in that the playing field of candidates changed significantly twice during the campaign season. At first incumbent president Lathandier signed up, then MW member SJLGamer joined in. Then BORG Collective leader St Nicky rose to challenge them after several BORG members sponsored him before he even signed up. Because BORG Collective at the time had many members and a member base that viewed St Nicky very favorably, it looked like he would be a significant challenger to Lathandier. Then two weeks later, Lathandier resigned as president and withdrew from the election due to real life issues.
For nearly a month St Nicky and SJLGamer were the only candidates. Since SJLGamer was not participating in the election at all and probably didn't have much in the way of popular support, it appeared that St Nicky would receive a guaranteed win. Then, suddenly MW member Flipip signed up eight days before the election poll (prompting SJLGamer to withdraw). He then ran a speed campaign to get his name out there. His entrance once again made the election appear that it would be close. And sure enough, it was. Surprisingly, the statistics showed that the election was very polarizing, with all divisions except BORG voted unanimously for Flipip, while BORG voted unanimously for St Nicky. This, however, was probably caused more by differences in what candidate was more familiar to what division, rather than actual policy differences.

Description: This election proved to be the most interesting and involved election to date. Most importantly, it was the first election where it was not obvious who would win. It was also the first election where there were 3 candidates, and where the candidates expanded their campaign beyond the Townhall Discussion through campaigning in division forums and creating campaign "bumper stickers."

Description: The Winter 07 Election was originally between Taffer and Westy. However, about a month into the campaign, Taffer resigned from his position as president and withdrew from the election due to real life issues. Tanweth, Taffer's vice president, LoE clan founder, and former long-time president filled the void. Both candidates put in a good effort, and Westy, despite running against a formidable opponent, managed to make this the closest election of any of the elections up to this point. A couple of Westy's voters stated in the election topic that the reason for their vote was a desire to give someone else a chance and let him put his ideas in action.

Description: The Fall 06 Election was, in some ways, more developed than the first election. The constitution had been amended to create an elections administrator who oversees elections and questions the candidates. Nonetheless, not much had changed. The election was almost certainly going to turn out in favor of one of the candidates (Taffer) right from the start, like with the first election. Both were members of the Mandalorian Warriors division, yet Taffer had been a member much longer, was more popular, and had more experience. These factors were likely instrumental in his landslide election. Total votes actually went down 3 points from the Summer 06 Election.
Summer 06 Election
Election Poll Results:
St Nicky [ 2 ] [14.29%]
Tanweth (incumbent) [ 12 ] [85.71%]
_____________________
Total votes: 14
Description: The Summer 06 Election was mostly an expirement to see if elections worked. Previously the incumbent (Tanweth) had held the position for over a year, since the league's founding. At this time, only division leaders were allowed to run for President, which left only a few people who were eligible. St Nicky (from then OGame division Phoenix Elite) arose as a reluctant challenger, although he played an enthusiastic role in campaigning prior to the election. Nonetheless, at the polls, Tanweth won a landslide victory, with 86% of the vote, not unexpectedly. Many members made the observation that Tanweth would almost certainly win. This, and the fact that elections were a new concept may have contributed to the fact that only 14 out of 50 or so LoE members voted in the poll.
